“It’s more than music, it’s training for life.”

Every year the choir performs two major free concerts for the Birmingham community, consisting of sacred and secular music. The choir performs regularly for churches, schools and other organizations throughout the Birmingham area.  The BBC presents a Collaborative Concert series every year, in Fall, Winter and Spring.  Every other year an ensemble of the BBC tours as ambassadors of the city of Birmingham. The choir has traveled extensively throughout the United States, England, Ireland, Japan, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Costa Rica  proudly representing Birmingham.

The goals of the Birmingham Boys Choir:

  • To allow talented boys in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama area an opportunity to more fully develop their gifts in an area of concentrated study
  • To teach and encourage good vocal habits within the group experience and on an individual basis
  • To teach music theory and develop sight singing skills
  • To teach discipline, integrity, professionalism, and teamwork

The Birmingham Boys Choir has been incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, civic organization since 1973.  Boys from over 35 schools in the greater Birmingham area participate in the Birmingham Boys Choir.  For more information, please contact the Birmingham Boys Choir office at 205-767-9219.
